Really the sort of thing I haven't played since Smash TV back when most people reading this review weren't even born or were busy filling diapers.I have no doubt this would be amazing couch co-op for we're-idiot-college-roommates, but for god's sake I got this on Steam and it'd be really swell if I could give the creators more of my paycheck and tax return money by shilling out gift copies for friends who will never play this with me anyway if it had online multiplayer. Just saying.TL;DR - I didn't mean to go past 2 hours of played time so I could refund it but here we are.. It's a great game if you wanna sit down for 10 minutes and just forget the world. Theres no deep storyline to keep track of, no complicated controls to memorize etc. Just sit down, blow up some llamas and have some fun. My partner and I enjoyed the snot out of this last night.A few recommendations though:Its very hard and there is no way to regain health once you lost it. Maybe make a few different difficulty modes?When you drop a gun and pick up a new one, theres no way to switch back to the old gun. I often pick up a new gun (which I hate) and then I completely lost the old gun. Overall I definitely recommend this game!. The most amazing llama game out there. If not the only one.... Game is original, give it that. The puns, good lord the puns...Now. take this and make a kickbutt brutal mech shmup sans the Llamas por favor?. Art of any form is subjective, but there's no denying well a game is actually well-made, with quality elements to offer. While one might not like a particular game, there's no denying (for those who aren't ignorant) when a game is genuinely well-crafted, and this game is an example of such.Visually, it's extremely high-fidelity and extremely detailed, with great lighting and outstanding detail. World and map design is excellent. Gameplay is smooth, intutive, solid and extremely enjoyable, between the weapons themselves and ability to mix-and-match weapons in right and left hand, as well as special ability and weapon drops. Weapons are creative and combat is actually visceral for a top-down shooter. Last, but certainly not least ... gore! Copious amounts of (llama) gore. I'm not actually a huge fan of top-down shooters, though I've played a fair amount in my time. By far, this is the one of the most well-designed and excellent experiencces of any I've played. It just happens to be llamas.There's a great contrast between the actually great dark atmosphere and incredible visuals that you would expect from, say, a serious zombie game (which the dev should actually consider, because the environment is already there for it) and the fact that you're slaughtering hordes of llamas. It's an excellent contrast.The dev is also an extremely nice guy who I had the pleasure of speaking with in a stream, so congrats for making an overall excellent game!. VALA(Vicious Attack Llama Apocalypse), only going to say that part once, is a "twin stick" shooter, can also be played with keyboard and mouse. Im a pretty good gamer, for what its worth, and while the game is deffinately difficult, it also comes down a little bit to luck on what drops, and what good combinations you can make, some guns are...good? but some have issues like plasma going over their heads, and grenade bounces doing exactly that. Game is fun and the room style smash tv ish and directions give you a choice of upgrades sometimes.possible SPOILER ALERT!7 hours in and I have already beaten the game, it was a fun ride but i felt some things were missing, the final fight might be buggy, llamas didnt coume out till halfway through, never saw the final llama, where the heck is it? Would have been nice to see some boss llamas, was really hoping for a 4th act, but infinity mode is nice, but it doesnt offer challenges to finish my collection of stuff. It would also have been nice to have different objectives other than kill llamas, or kill llama spawners, maybe capture a point? or defend an object(other than that 1 turret in that 1 map)? or perhaps race to the end..
